Tough Dog suspension has been making tracks across the world since 1984, and in 2018, we’ve been lucky enough to be nominated in the NSW Premier’s awards in the Defence Industry Category.
Managing Director John Agostino notes that “While we’ve been active overseas in a number of regional markets in our recreation suspensions, it’s only in the last two years that we’ve really focused on servicing the needs of defence and armoured clients across the world.”
Armoured vehicle suspension is similar in application to its civilian counterparts, but the application of additional weight to the platforms for various armouring levels means carrying and controlling the load required a whole new level of suspension armouring. Enter Tough Dog’s new range of ‘AVR’ (Armoured Vehicle Replacement) shocks & Springs. These units feature a huge 50mm internal bore, 70mm external bore and our award winning foam cell technology inside. “The valving (What controls the shock’s performance) is worlds apart from the recreational part numbers” John mentions.
Tough Dog’s unique approach to a ‘solutions based’ armoured vehicle program, rather than an ‘off the shelf’ solution for every vehicle has set us apart in dealing with clients, especially in the middle east where Armoured Vehicles are primarily manufactured. We’ve chosen to partner with Australian Based Global Partners to best access and service the needs of these clients. Gary Turner, Managing Director of Tough Gear Trading Pty Ltd says “Tough Dog’s armoured business forms part of our core product range, and their attention to detail and customer service makes it a pleasure to deal with their staff, and to sell their products across the world.:
Other finalists nominated in the category are Bisalloy Steels, Droneshield, Quickstep Holdings Limited & UAV Vision Pty. Ltd. 4Way Suspension congratulates its fellow nominees on their achievements in their respective fields.
The Awards are announced on the 24th October.
