Making Tracks to the Tip – Cape York

Tough Dog Suspension is heading to Cape York!

With each and every new product, the Research & Development team go through many hours and kilometres of rigorous testing to make sure the components are up to the task, and perform with the same reliability that has become synonymous with the Tough Dog name.

While a lot of that testing happens here in house on our Rohrig shock dynometer, there is no substitute for verifying your results with real world testing. And there is nothing that says the testing can’t be a whole heap of fun! We regularly get out for testing on everything we make, even small changes to components like mounting bushes get specifically tested to ensure quality remains top notch.

Dave, the marketing manager here is absolutely mad keen on heading out 4WDing. This year, he’s headed to Cape York to experience everything that Far north Queensland has to offer. “I really can’t wait, it’s going to be one of those bucket list type experiences.” Dave says. “The best way to have confidence in the products we sell, is to get out there and use them like every other 4WD enthusiast.”

Dave’s mighty Nissan Patrol wagon has received a host of modifications to make living out of the vehicle for weeks at a time a comfortable experience. “The trip has been in the planning stage for nearly 8 months now, and the final pieces of the puzzle are falling together,” Dave explains. Of course, there is no way we could let a trip like this go by without a mention on our website and Facebook. While we have been involved in plenty of trips like this in the past, it’s the first time we have documented one from start to finish.

Keep an eye on this page and the Tough Dog Facebook page during September 2015 for updates including track and trip notes as they happen from the trip. We’ll also be posting some information between now and then on vehicle preparation, and anything else relevant to this epic adventure!
