Post Registration - Engineering Certification

The process involved with post registration GVM upgrades require an Authorised State Engineering Signatory to inspect, validate and certify the upgrade. This process takes place in all States/Territories except for WA and NT.

The process in WA and NT is based on a 'type approval' system. This means 4 Way Suspension has a pre-approved upgrade approval agreement in place with the transport departments of either state/territory. This means that having a signatory to validate a 4 Way Suspension GVM upgrade in WA or NT is not required.

As for QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, SA and ACT a signatory must certify any post registration GVM upgrade.

For an authorised state engineering signatory to carry out the needed inspection and certification of an upgrade, the signatory may require access to 4 Way Suspensions' test data and reports for which Federal Approval (pre-registration) has been granted against, to validate the certification.

These test data and associated reports are the intellectual property of 4 Way Suspension and will always remain so.

In the case whereby a signatory requests the test data and reports, a non -disclosure agreement (NDA) is required. For this to take place, the signatory is required to contact 4 Way Suspension and this will be organised by the GVM Upgrade Manager.

To assist 4 Way Suspension GVM upgrade fitting stations with the process of post registration, the below list has been updated and contains the information and contact details of signatories who currently have an NDA with 4 Way Suspension and therefore have the required test data and reports:
