RAM 1500 Series DT Suspension Release

Tough Dog research and development team have been very busy coming up with new suspension kits for the RAM 1500 Series DT (2019) onwards. Please note that these kits are only available for vehicles utilising the non-air suspension.

They have developed a foam cell and 9 stage adjustable foam cell shock option for the front and rear of the RAM. This being matched with coil springs in the front for either no accessories, or with a steel bullbar with or without a winch and coil springs in the rear complementing a 0-300KG, constant 300KG or constant 500KG load in the rear. Given the range of options, there will be something available that suits your vehicle.

The 1500 Series DT uses the same 5.7L Hemi V8 engine that was utilised in the DS, meaning power and torque are still rated at 291kW and 556Nm respectively. The engine has been fitted with a new mild hybrid system combining a belt-driven generator unit with a 48-volt battery pack which gives the engine start/stop ability, shot term torque assist and brake-energy regeneration. The biggest change between the DS and the DT is in the cabin, with a completely redesigned centre console which is said to free up more storage space while simultaneously improving ergonomics. 

Some of the developments highlighted include:

Levelled Stance after the 50mm lift front and rear, the vehicle gained a more levelled stance, rather than the nose down stance when using OE suspension.

Restored rear Sway Bar operation due to the fitment of the rear Swaybar Relocation Bracket.

Rear Airbag has been designed for use with inconsistent loads.

Steering Alignment Retained and OE geometry restored after the lift without the use of further bracketry or extra components.

Panhard Rod optional in the rear.
